Christmas in Rockefeller Center

The holiday season is upon us and there’s nothing else like seeing the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree. Tonight, December 3rd from 8-9 PM, is the 82nd annual Christmas Tree Lighting!  There will be an entertaining show with many different performances  from Mariah Carey to Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga as well as The Rockettes! Rockerfeller Center can get crowded, so it is always nice to plan ahead, here are my favorite spots to head to when I am in that area. They all range in prices and atmosphere, let us know what your favorite is!

Maloney & Porcelli: 37 E 50th St in Midtown East- This is one of the more expensive places on the list but the steak and sides are so delicious that it is worth the money. My favorite is the Filet Mignon and creamed spinach side! Not only do they have an amazing menu but their drink selection is also one of the best. They have a range of different Whiskeys, Bourbon, along with cocktails, beer and wine. You really can have it all here and it is definitely worth the price!

Nobu 57: 40 W  57th St in Midtown West- This place is for all of sushi lovers out there and  who are willing to spend a little extra money. Nobu is definitely worth it and so is the Yellowtail Jalapeno roll, it is my favorite, along with the rock shrimp! On the drink side, you must try the Bellini Martini (if you are a peach fan)! Nobu is perfect if you want something small but filling or just to stop by warm up and have a delicious martini or some sake.

Le Bernardin: 155 W 51st St in Midtown West- If you love French food or have been wanting to try it, Le Bernardin is the place to go! This also has an expensive menu but worth every penny! If you are looking for small plates, or the prix-fixe menu, decide to sit at the Lounge. I would also suggest doing the Lounge because it’s not as expensive but you are still able to get the amazing food and drinks. However, if you decide to seat, I would suggest getting the Chef’s tasting menu, definitely worth the price.

The Sea Grill: 19 W 49th St in Midtown West- This is a restaurant for seafood junkies! It isn’t as expensive as Nobu, but it also isn’t cheap. This is the perfect place to escape the crowds of the tree lighting for a relaxing night, and if you are lucky you can get a seat by the window. The Prix-Fixe menu makes it easy and a decent price for what they offer. There cocktail list is also delicious, especially the Blood Orange Bellini!

Brasserie Ruhlmann: 45 Rockefeller Plaza in Midtown West- Being located at the Rockefeller Plaza makes this an obvious choice. Easy way to leave the crowd behind and grab some drinks and dinner. Some of my favorites are the wild mushroom risotto and the seafood platter, oysters, muscles, and shrimp, so good! There are many other options between the French cuisine and seafood you can’t go wrong.

Don’t forget to rate and review the establishment!
