Fall Beer Review
For many people the fall is their favorite season, whether it’s because of the start of football season, pumpkin flavored everything or the weather. Fall, while it may not be my favorite season it certainly ranks a very close second thanks to football season and the fall beers that come with the cooler weather and leaves changing color. If you’re looking for the perfect fall beer but aren’t sure which one to try, here are some of my favorites. Enjoy!
Breakfast Stout: Founders Brewing Co., Grand Rapids, MI.
If you’re a coffee lover then Breakfast Stout will be the perfect fall beer for you. Brewed with imported chocolates, Sumatra and Kona coffee, this brew has a strong fresh roasted java taste you’re sure to love.
Harpoon Octoberfest: Harpoon Brewery, Boston, MA & Windsor VT.
A Marzen style brew that stays true to its Munich roots, Harpoon Octoberfest is full of chocolate and pale malts that provides its deep color and rich flavorful taste.
Samuel Adams Octoberfest: Boston Beer Company (Samuel Adams), Boston, MA.
Beer snobs may disagree but Sam Octoberfest is my personal favorite fall brew. The first thing you’ll notice is its deep golden color that perfectly portrays the fall season. Sam Adams blends four roasts of barley and German Noble hops to create the perfect blend of sweetness and bitterness.
Blue Point Pumpkin Ale: Blue Point Brewing Company, Patchogue, NY.
A pumpkin ale brewed with a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg, this pumpkin ale captures the essence of the fall season perfectly. If you want to enjoy this pumpkin brew after the fall you better stock up, they stop selling it after Thanksgiving.
LTD 07 Oktoberfest: Full Sail Brewing Company, Hood River, OR.
You won’t have to fly all the way to Germany to get yourself an authentic Oktoberfest lager with LTD 07 Oktoberfest in stores. A smooth, malty Bavarian style lager is perfect for a tailgate or watching your favorite team at home this fall.
