Our Favorite Biergarten’s

Hoist your stein of beer, enjoy the outdoors and check out one or all of our favorite beer gardens (Biergarten’s).

Biergarten at The Standard – When you find yourself strolling along the High Line, this place is definitely worth a stop.  They serve traditional German fare and in the winter it’s enclosed in glass.  Grab a paddle, play some ping pong and watch the day slip away from you.

Blue Ribbon Beer Garden – You can enjoy beer pong, a few board games and a great view of the LES.  They don’t have any taps here and you’ll be drinking in plastic cups.  Try one of their beer floats, it’s provided via a slush machine that deposits a brilliant ice cream-esque swirl of beer foam at the top.

Bohemian Hall and Beer Garden – Located in Astoria, Bohemian Hall is the oldest beer garden in the city and has been serving folks for over 100 years.  The food is decent and their happy hour runs weekdays from 5-7 with $4 Mugs of Craft Beer & $18 Pitchers of Featured Craft Beer w/ a choice of Fried Pierogies, Klobasa Bites or Chicken Wings.

Greenwood Park – Greenwood Park is a 13,000 square foot indoor/outdoor restaurant, bar and beer garden created out of an old gas station & mechanic shop with 60 beer tap lines, an indoor bar, an outdoor cargo bar, 3 bocce ball courts and a seasonal menu.  On weekdays they offer happy hour till 7 with $2 off select draft beer, sangria, wine and cocktails.

Loreley Restaurant and Biergarten – Located downtown on Rivington, they offer 12 Imported German beers on tap and wines from the Loreley region that you can enjoy in their backyard.  The pretzels are definitely worth trying.

Radegast Hall and Biergarten – You can enjoy the World Cup on 3 giant screens here and make some new friends by hanging at their large communal tables, while sipping on some rare beer.  When you get hungry stroll up to the grill and order one of their many Brats or Sausages.  I’m partial to their Currywurst but the Venison Sausage is pretty amazing too.

Zum Schneider – I’ve probably been to this Bavarian Biergarten over 50 times and it never disappoints.  It’s an indoor spot, with some seats outside.  They have beautiful handcrafted communal tables which is great for a big group or making new friends.  Their food is authentic and the service is always friendly.

Cheers!
