The weather is finally perfect to enjoy drinks outside. The city is full of places with great rooftops, beer gardens, and outdoor space, that it can be hard to decide what one is best for you. So we decided to help you out and come up with a list of our favorite spots to enjoy those long summer days and warm nights. We picked spots from different areas of NYC, so you can experience the best of Manhattan.
Lock Yard: Bay Ridge Brooklyn- The backyard beer garden of the Lock Yard is really cool, they have picnic benches and cute lights hanging. They have a huge selection of beers as well as weekly selection of new beers. They also have a different type of bar food, by offering pickle spears and different types of sausages.
Ava Lounge: Midtown West- Ava Lounge is the rooftop of the Dream Hotel. They have great views of Times Square along with having nice potted plants to make you feel as if you are on a tropical island in Manhattan. The drinks are strong and delicious but pricey so I would suggest have only one or two, not only to save you wallet but make sure you enjoy the rest of the night too.
The Delancey: Lower East Side- The party starts at 5pm when the Delancey opens, head to the rooftop where you feel like you are in a tropical spot instead of NYC. They have potted palm trees, a fishpond and a margarita machine, what more could you ask for! Great spot to relax. listen to good music and enjoy the starry summer nights. After you can head downstairs and enjoy the DJ.
D.B.A.: East Village- D.B.A. has a cute backyard garden/patio along with a glass canopy semi-outdoor space. If you are a beer snob like myself you’d like their beer menu, they have many to offer. Not only is it just a great beer selection, they have bourbon and whiskey. This place has it all from great outdoor space to a great option of beverages.
Sweet & Vicious: Nolita- Sweet and Vicious is a cool spot from the decor to the great drinks. Outside they have benches along the side of the backyard and tables in the middle. The decor in the outdoor is graffiti on the wall which is really cool and different. They serve delicious frozen Margaritas in mason jars.
Watermark: South Street Seaport- Great spot to enjoy the views of the East River. They have a rooftop along with a downstairs outdoor space. They have great affordable drinks and also serve sno-cones to cool off on those hot summer days.
Bryant Park Cafe: Midtown West- Wonderful spot to grab drinks either before or after hanging out at the park. They have amazing spiked cider and the food is delicious. This spot is one of my favorite to grab a drink, enjoy the weather, and people watch.
Don’t forget to favorite and review the establishments if you enjoyed the time spent there. If these aren’t your style bars, search ‘Outdoor Space’ in the search tab.
