Game Day Guides: Can the Fighting Irish prevail in So-Cal?

With the lastest AP-Poll revealing Notre Dame as the #1 team in the nation, the Fighting Irish look to lock up the regular season unbeaten, punching their ticket to advance to the National Championship. Standing in the way, are the Trojans of South California, who has suffered from yet another disappointing season under head coach Lane Kiffin.

Kickoff will be at 8:00PM (Eastern Time) on ABC, as the Notre Dame Captain, and Heisman candidate, Manti Te’o has one last chance to showcase his talents. Watching from the sidelines, will be senior quarterback Matt Barkley, who was injured during last weeks loss against UCLA.

The Coliseum

Let’s face it, students, alumni, and N.D. faithful have circled this game on their calendars before the season even began, but with the stakes so high this year, expect to be positioned in the center of an electrifying atmosphere. Located in central Los Angeles, the home of the Trojans, the LA Coliseum, is surrounded by an array of diverse bars and clubs that cater to everyone, including this weekends opposition.

Here are some tips and places to visit while you spend your weekend in Los Angeles:

The only honest art form is laughter…”

Start your weekend off with a good time at a comedy club with your friends. Purchase tickets ahead of time, if possible, and laugh your worries off.

The Stars Are Out Tonight

Although there are a plethora of nightclubs throughout LA, Hollywood lives up to its hype. Known for its celebrity presence, as seen on the “Walk of Fame”, Hollywood brings its fame and influence inside the clubs and lounges. Stop by a Hollywood club and make a name for yourself – who knows, maybe the city will ask for your hand/footprints by the end of the night.

Game-Day

With kickoff primed for 5:00PM (Local Time), you will have plenty of time to get ready and start pre-gamming. Find a gathering place near the stadium to watch the earlier games and fill up on food and beverages. Please visit the LA Metro for information regarding information on getting to the game, along with useful game day travel tips.

Sunday-Funday

Since your game has already passed, watch the NFL games at a sports bar and enjoy food and drink specials that are more than likely to be served. If you are located North near Burbank, visit a sports bar and watch as your fantasy football team makes its final push to the playoffs.

Cheers,
