Thanksgiving Shots Anyone?
There is nothing like getting a little saucy this year at Thanksgiving, surrounded by family and friends. Maybe the libations can keep you awake and steer you clear of the post-meal nap. Although these are not traditional “cocktails’ at Thanksgiving, here are some Thanksgiving inspired shots to liven up your dinner feast!
Pumpkin Pudding Shots
- 1 (3.4-oz.) instant vanilla pudding mix
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1/2 c. Fireball whisky
- 1/4 c. vodka
- 1/2 c. pumpkin puree
- 1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
- Whipped topping, for garnish
- Cinnamon, for garnish
- Cinnamon graham cracker squares, for garnish
Directions: In a bowl mix the vanilla pudding, milk, fireball, vodka, pumpkin puree, and pumpkin pie spice. Spoon into shot glasses and refrigerate at least two hours. Top with whipped cream, some cinnamon, and a graham cracker.
Caramel Jell-O Apple Shots
- 5 Granny Smith apples, halved lengthwise, stems removed
- 1/3 c. Juice of 3 lemons
- 1 3/4 c. apple cider
- 2 (.25-oz) envelopes unflavored powdered gelatin
- 1/4 c. soft caramels, melted
- 1 c. caramel vodka
Directions: Using a melon baller, hollow out apples and brush the surfaces with lemon juice. Place each hollowed-out apple facing up in a muffin tin. Pour your apple cider into a pot and sprinkle with gelatin. Let this sit for 2 minutes. Whisk on low heat until gelatin is dissolved, then add the caramels and whisk. Remove from heat and stir in vodka. Pour this mixture into apples and refrigerate at least 4 hours. Place apples gelatin side down and cut into 4 wedges to serve. Super cute!
Apple Pie Bourbon Shots
- 1 1/2 c. bourbon
- 2 apples (green and red), chopped
- 3 sugar cubes
- 1 whole nutmeg, slightly shaved
- 4 cinnamon sticks, plus more for garnish
- 1 1″ piece fresh ginger
Directions: This requires a couple of days to make. Fill mason jar with apples, bourbon, sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, and ginger. Let mixture sit for 2 to 4 days. Pour mixture in little shot glasses and garnish with cinnamon stick.
Caramel Apple Pudding Shots
- 1 package instant vanilla pudding
- 1 c. milk
- 1 c. apple vodka
- 1/2 c. caramel, plus more for garnish
- 1 c. cool whip
- 1/2 c. toffee bits
Directions: In a bowl whisk pudding and milk and set aside to set. Fold caramel into pudding and spoon into cups. Top with cool whip, toffee, and caramel.
