Day of the Dead

Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead is a holiday celebrated throughout Mexico and by people of Mexican ancestry all over the world. This holiday extends from October 31st-November 2nd. Dia de los Muertos is the gathering of friends and family to pray for their loved ones who have passed, and help guide them through their spiritual journey. Some traditions that are associated with Day of the Dead are building private alters (ofrendas), making sugar skulls to honor the dead, putting up pictures of loved ones, presenting marigolds, and making the favorite food and beverages of the deceased loved ones.

In case you are having a get together to celebrate Dia de los Murtos, I figured I would provide you with some excellent cocktails. Mezcal and Tequila are crowd favorites, so try to focus your menu around these spirits.
