Can’t Miss Guinness spots in Austin

Warming up for your St Patrick’s Day celebration?  Why not start with a perfect pint of Guinness.  If you are interested in the dark stuff here are some must stops in Austin.  Remember a proper Guinness takes a few minutes.

B.D Riley’s – Head here to visit and experience the true feel of Ireland and the “Craic”(Fellowship and Fun) of your own local Irish Pub, in the heart of Austin’s 6th Street Entertainment District.  Pouring the not so easy perfect pint of Guinness.  Their Happy Hour runs during the week from 4-7 $1.00 off 20-ounce Imperial Pints of beer, $3.00 well drinks, $4.75 house wines.

Black Sheep Lodge – Locally owned and operated, Black Sheep Lodge is a South Austin neighborhood bar & grill which has become a fixture in the 78704. Located at South Lamar and Oltorf, Black Sheep Lodge is the perfect place to come munch on an incredible burger and relax with a pint.  If your in the mood for pool, darts or shuffleboard they have all that too.  Enjoy that Guinness on their dog friendly back porch.  They offer a daily rotating Happy Hour from open to close.

Fadó  Irish Pub – If you find yourself on 4th St. stop in to Fadó (meaning long ago) to cure your Guinness desires.  Fadó Austin tells the story of Ireland’s rich and celebrated pub culture throughout its design. A stroll around Fadó is like a walk through Irish Pub history where four different designs are subtly together, each featuring its own special ambiance.  Happy Hour runs weekdays from 5-7 $4 Drink Specials, Stella Artois, House red and white, Pickleback shots, Well drinks, $4 Happy Hour menu as well.

Mister Tramps – Mister Tramps is a wonderful and inviting environment where you can meet up with friends or come by yourself, because there will always be someone you know.  They pour a proper pint and have every match or game whether it’s American or European on one of their many flat screens.  They have open to close specials every day and from Midnight-2 you can get a free pizza with the purchase of a pitcher.

Zax Restaurant and Bar – With old wooden floors, high beamed ceilings, and streams of natural light filtering in from an urban garden patio, ZAX Restaurant and Bar offers a casually elegant drinking and dining experience. Their menu features an upscale offering of classic American Bistro fare with Mediterranean influences.  Though Zax is clearly much more than a pub they still know attention to detail and that is shown by perfect pints.  Their Happy Hour runs from 4-7 Tuesday-Friday and all day on Monday $1.00 off Draft Beer Wines by the glass Mixed Drinks.
