National Beer Day!

It’s that time of year again- April 7th, 2018, National Beer Day! On March 22, 1933, President Franklin Roosevelt signed an amendment to the Volstead Act, known as the Cullen-Harrison Act that went into effect April 7, 1933. The Volstead Act prohibited the sale of any alcoholic beverage above .5%. As you can imagine, this made many people very happy!

“I think this would be a good time for a beer.” – Roosevelt

The Cullen-Harrison Act allowed the manufacturing and sales of alcohol of an ABV around 4.0% prior to the repeal of the Eighteenth Amendment. On December 5, 1933, the Eighteenth Amendment was repealed!
