5 Cupid Cocktails
Set the mood this Valentine’s Day with these 5 sip-worthy cocktails inspired by love. If you’re looking to have a night of dinner and drinks with your Valentine, why not spice it up with some fancy cocktails? Fruity, bubbly, and chocolatey flavors can spark up the night for your friends, lovers, or even party goers. The Raspberry Chocolate Kiss is going to my cocktail of choice this Valentine’s Day! Raspberry Chocolate Kiss
- ¼ C. Mint infused simple syrup
- 3 chocolate cookies crushed (Nabisco famous Wafers work)
- 10 raspberries
- ¼ C. Vodka
- 2 Tbsp. Cranberry Juice
- Ice Cubes
Fill a shallow dish with simple syrup just to cover the bottom. Place crushed cookies in another dish. Coat the rim of the martini glass in the syrup, then right into the cookies.
Crush raspberries in a shaker with a muddler. Add vodka and cranberry juice and fill shaker with ice. Shake until chilled and strain into martini glass. Serve.
Ingredients: (Makes 4)
- 6 oz. vodka
- 2 oz. Monin Grapefruit syrup or Campari
- 2 oz. fresh lime juice
- 2 oz. fresh grapefruit juice
- 2 oz. simple syrup
- ½ tsp. yerba mate powder
- Maraschino cherries, for garnish
Place all ingredients except for the cherries in a blender with 4 cups of ice. Blend until smooth, pour in glasses, and garnish with a cherry.
- 2 ½ oz. fermented raspberry shrub or stovetop raspberry shrub
- ½ oz. cognac
- ½ oz. simple syrup
- Soda water, to top
Fill a shaker with ice and add the raspberry shrub, cognac, and simple syrup. Strain into an ice filled glass and top with soda water.
- ½ C. Milk
- 1 C. Heavy cream
- ¼ C. whole coffee beans
- 2 oz. semisweet chocolate
- 2 Tbsp. Kahlua
- 1 tsp. confectioner’s sugar
- 1 Tbsp. dark chocolate-covered coffee beans, chopped
Combine milk, ½ cup of cream, and whole coffee beans to a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer, turn off heat, cover, and steep beans for an hour. Discard beans and keep liquid in saucepan. Bring milk and cream mixture back to a simmer, add the chocolate, and whisk until incorporated. Remove from heat and whisk in Kahlua. Whip remaining ½ cup of cream and the confectioners’ sugar until soft peaks form. Divide the hot chocolate between 2 cups and garnish with a dollop of whipped cream and sprinkle some chopped chocolate covered beans on top.
Dainty’s Cranberry Gimlet
- 2 oz. citrus vodka
- ¾ oz. fresh lime juice
- ¾ oz. unsweetened cranberry juice
- ½ oz. agave nectar
- Lemon twist or fresh cranberries, for garnish
Combine the vodka, cranberry juice, and agave in a shaker with ice. Shake till cold and strain into martini glass. Garnish with fresh cranberries and a lemon twist.
